That’s great! I always tell people they should go to the shelter or rescue if they plan on getting a dog. Some listen and some don’t.

Our family has always adopted dogs too. Our last couple family dogs were from the shelter and so is Linus. Stetson was adopted from the guide dog program.

They have all been great dogs and if we get another dog, it will be from a shelter. I have also been preaching to my children about shelter dogs and I hope I have convinced them that when they are ready to get a dog to get a shelter dog. I think it is very important to start educating our children about shelter dogs and cats and hopefully as they get older they will adopt!
