Congratulations on your new puppy! As far as we know the best way to determine a breed is to get genetic testing. We can take our best guess, but it’s really just guessing. One of our dogs, Linus is a mixed breed and he looks a lot like a Lab, but when you feel his coat, look at his tail, and take a closer look at his face you can tell he is not. We met his mother and she looked a lot like an Australian Shepherd with a tricolor coat. Linus is all black.

@Marta, It may be the AKC top 50 breeds, but I’m not really sure. I’d like to add breed profiles and pictures when I have more time to fill out this page.
