@Pamela, good point on keeping health information handy. I vet records for all my dogs in separate folders. I need to make sure I bring those records with me any time I travel with the dogs or leave them with my friends/family or pet sitter when my dogs stay home.

It appears that crises always happen when your regular vet isn’t available.

I’d suggest you keep a record of your dog’s health information handy so you can provide it to an emergency vet when needed. It can cut down a lot of diagnosis time. And it’s especially helpful if you’re traveling when a pet sitter has to seek emergency care. Because they won’t have the history memorized that’s ingrained in your brain. 🙂
