I live alone and do not have help. They are a 5yr old pit and a 1yr old Boston Terrier. The Boston stated with resource guarding. The fights seem to start with a look from the pitbull…she has been here the longest. I got the Boston at 10 weeks. Help

I believe it was jealousy, the younger dog did injure the older dog and my son trying to separate them. We usually leave the alone e while at work. Now I’m worried about the younger dog trying to assert dominance.

Establish a pack hierarchy. When you come home or approach both of them, I recommend picking one dog to always go first. I recommend giving the male this position. When giving toys or a treat, make sure they’re the same but give one to the chosen lead dog first then the other gets its treat/toy. Feed the lead before feeding the follower. Establish yourself (one human) as the leader of the pack. Good luck.

-Disclaimer. As a chikd I grew up with various dogs ranging from 2 to 5 in my household. I haven’t had a dog since I moved out over 20 years ago.

We have a male and female both are the same age, both are fixed and they fight without warning no signs of aggression prior to a fight. One will walk into a room and the next thing we know all hell breaks loose. We have tried the wheelbarrel method, loud noise only seems to aggrivate the situation. Keeping them separate from one another only seems to create more tension between them. I am afraid to rehome either of them for fear something horrible will happen. I don’t want to put them down either. Please help

No problem. My boxer had to be euthanized due to illness. We got a puppy(male American Bulldog/been neutered l)shortly after and he seemed to fit in fine with the other 2, especially the female. A month ago, the other older male was found to have bone cancer and was euthanized. Since then , the other two dogs began fighting almost daily. We can’t really identify a trigger and don’t know how to stop it.

Our dog was a puppy when we got her and was raised with our son’s dog who was older and more dominant. Now that our dog has matured and is now a 2 yr. old, the dogs will fight viciously when they are together. We have had to keep them separated when my son comes over. The issue appears to be my son and the dogs jealousy of each other. Tonight our dog knocked opened the front door and attacked my son’s pit bull who was sitting quietly outside. The attack was vicious, we managed to separate them using the wheelbarrow method. The common denominator here is the presence of my son in every attack. Are the dogs fighting because of jealousy and how do we get them to stop?
