This is an older post. At the time I lived in a condo with my girlfriend. She would walk and play with him during the day. Back then I wasn’t always able to take Linus out on walks until the evening. Also, my memory is a bit fuzzy since this is over 10 years ago. Thanks for visiting!

I presume you have a large garden?

I’m sorry to hear your dog is pulling on leash. You might want to consider contacting a certified professional dog trainer to help you teach your dog loose leash walking. Unfortunately, I don’t have an article on that subject yet, but I’ll add it to my “to do” list.

I usually recommend the easy walk harness for mild pulling. The gentle leader works better for heavy pulling. Good luck with your dog!

You can put the Thundershirt on and it is still very easy to attach the leash to your dog’s collar.

We’ve used a few different harnesses with our dogs most notably the Easy Walk no-pull harness (https://puppyintraining.com/dog-pulling-on-leash-check-our-easy-walk-dog-harness-review/) and the Comfortflex Sports harness (https://puppyintraining.com/comfortflex-harness-in-for-review/). The easy walk harness helps with pulling, but doesn’t change Linus’ leash aggression. We mainly use the Comfortflex harness for Nosework class, but when we’ve used it on walks it didn’t change Linus’ leash aggression.

Good luck with your training and thundershirt. I’ve heard some who have great responses from their dogs when wearing the Thundershirt. However, our experiences are less dramatic. Although I do believe it helps Linus and I continue to use it when he’s experiencing anxiety. Let us know how things go for you and your dog.

I have just come across this site looking for some info on the thundershirt as I have just bought one for my English Bull Terrior – lovely girl indoors, nightmare out on walks.
I believe most of this is due to nervousness as she is a different dog at home, so first walk this morning along with my other dog Stanley, like you, not really sure if it helped or not, but individual walks due this evening and I will see what happens
